Antique Forum Augusta Trayana, Stara Zagora City
Ancient Forum "Augusta Trayana" is located in the very heart of Stara Zagora, behind the Courthouse and the Old Theater. It was discovered in 1968. A few years later, its study began. The monument is a square with an amphitheatrical auditorium, thermal baths, fortress walls, a western gate and a part from the main shopping street. You can find stone reliefs, coins and inscriptions, therms, a theater in the Ancient Forum. A magnificent marble statue of Orpheus was discovered there.
