Bachkovo Monastery

Bachkovo Monastery

Bachkovo monastery is the second biggest monastery in Bulgaria after Rila monastery. It is situated near the village of Bachkovo, 10 km. away from Asenovgrad. It is founded in 1083 by the two brothers from Georgia Grigorii and Abasii Bakuriani. Along the long path before the monastery there are many shops for souvenirs honey, berry jam and many other interesting things. The monastery is open for visitors every day.
