"Creators of the Bulgarian State" Monument
"Creators of the Bulgarian State" Monument is a memorial complex, which is located 6km. from the town of Shumen. It is dedicated to the celebration of 1300 years since the foundation of Bulgaria. It is 70m high. There are sculptures of the Khans - Asparuh, Tervel, Krum and Omurtag. The golden age of Bulgaria under the rule of King Simeon is presented with several figures. Three concrete blocks of the monument are covered with impressive mosaics. It is the largest outdoor triptych mosaic in Europe. At the top of the monument there is a sculpture of a 52-meter high lion weighing 1000 tons.
