"Dambala" locality
The locality of Dambala is near Momchilgrad, in the Eastern Rhodopes. There is a fountain with several spouts and a small pool. There is a belief that at midnight on May 5 - May 6 the water acquires miraculous power and cures various diseases. People believe in the healing qualities of the water flowing from the rock. However, these properties are manifested only on the night opposite St. George's Day on May 5 - May 6.
Among Muslims, the holiday is known as Huderlez ("huder" - green, "lez" - from Iliyaz). Already on May 5, believers come to spend the night here and pray to God to help them.
