Hisarlaka Fortress, Kyustendil Town
Hisarlaka fortress is located on a hill with the same name in the southern part of Kyustendil. It was built at the end of the IV - beginning of the 5th century. In this time the town was known under the name of Velbazhd. There are fourteen round, triangular and rectangular towers; two gates and five pillars. The main and widest gate is on the eastern wall, which is near the main road. Next to the fortress is the zoo of the city.
