Hisarya Town

Hisarya is located in South Bulgaria, in the District of Plovdiv. It is located at an altitude of 346 meters. Its population is about 7000 people. The town is known for its healing mineral springs and parks rich in plant species. Hisarya is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Bulgaria. Its greatest period of prosperity was during the Roman Empire. The construction of fortress walls around the town, baths, municipality buildings, streets started under the reign of Emperor Diocletian. You can see the remains of these fortress walls and the thermae. Tourists can drink mineral water from the tap at the "Momina salza" spring.
