Kaleto Fortress, Mezdra Town
The medieval fortress Kaleto is located 1 km southwest of the center of the town of Mezdra. The fortress is situated on a cliff over the Iskar River. The hill is naturally protected and has a strategic location as a crossroad of important roads connecting the Danube and Sofia plains, Eastern with Western Bulgaria. The fortress is not big and you can see everything for about half an hour. It is upgraded with alleys and stairs. There is also a car park near the fortress.
