Kalofer Town
Kalofer is located at the foot of The Balkans, at an altitude of 665 meters. The population of Kalofer is about 3000 people. It is the birthplace of the Bulgarian poet and revolutionary Hristo Botev. Over the centuries the town has been an important cultural and commercial center. Most of the locals are involved in the cultivation of the oil rose, which is used to produce the famous Bulgarian rose oil. There is a monastery "Nativity of the Virgin" and "Byala reka" eco trail near Kalofer. Panichishte area is one of the starting points for "Raisko praskalo" waterfall and Botev Peak.
