Koprivshtitsa Town
The town of Koprivshtitsa is located in Sredna Gora, 110 km from Sofia. The population is just over 2000 people. It is located at an altitude of 1060 m. In 1978 it was acknowledged as a national architectural reserve and it is among "The 100 national tourist sites of Bulgaria". The town was burnt three times after 1790. In 1867 Vasil Levski formed a Revolutionary Committee here. On April 20, 1876, the April Uprising broke out. The first rifle in the Uprising cracked on "Kalachev" bridge. The beginning of the uprising was announced by Todor Kableshkov and led by Georgi Benkovski. The uprising was put down in several days and most of the locals were killed.

- January 1 - "Singing of the rings" a traditional festival for this region where young girls put their rings in water to predict who will be married first. The next day there is a lot of singing.
