Lyutitsa Fortress
Lyutitsa Fortress is among the best preserved medieval fortresses in Bulgaria. It was built on the Rodopi peak "Gradishteto". It is located 6 km away from Ivaylovgrad. It is also known by the names "The Marble City" and "The Citadel of Kaloyan". It was destroyed many times. It was built in the 12th-13th century. The path to the fortress from Ivaylovgrad is about 9 km. The road to the fortress is dirt. You can travel by car in the beginning, but 2 km before the fortress it is better to continue on foot.
