Mezek Fortress
Mezek Fortress is a medieval Byzantine fortress built to the west of the village of Mezek. It is situated at an altitude of about 210 meters. The fortress used to have the functions of a border guard fortress. It is one of the most preserved medieval fortresses in Bulgaria. An asphalt road leads to it. There is a small car park. You can reach the fortress using a 50m - dirt road.
