Parthenonas village, Greece

The village of Parthenonas is 5km. away from Neos Marmaras. The road to Parthenonas goes through a forest of olive trees. It is a traditional village with well kept old houses. In 1970 the place was rediscovered and called "The abandoned town of Sithonia" as only abandoned and ruined houses could be seen there. After rediscovering the place new guest houses and villas started to be built but all of them stuck to the architecture of the abandoned houses to keep the authenticity of the place. The cobble streets are narrow and steep. Parthenonas is on a hill with a view to the coastline of Neos Marmaras and the island of Kelifos.
