Sitovo inscription

The Sitovo Inscription is a unique rock inscription found near the village of Sitovo, Plovdiv region, in southern Bulgaria. The inscription was discovered in 1928 by local residents. It is carved on a monolithic rock, which is located about 5 km from the village. Although the inscription was discovered almost a century ago, it has not yet been fully read and interpreted. There are various theories as to its meaning and purpose, ranging from religious practices to military messages. Some researchers suggest that the inscription may be part of a larger epigraphic monument, while others believe it may have been simply a personal message or list.
