Dryanovo Monastery "St. Archangel Michael"

Dryanovo Monastery "St. Archangel Michael" was founded during the Second Bulgarian Empire at the beginning of the XII century. It was destroyed twice. It was rebuilt in 1845. The monastery was a stronghold and refuge for Bulgarian revival leaders and revolutionaries. In 1876, during the April Uprising, the group of priest Hariton, including Bacho Kiro, was hidden there. It is located in Northern Bulgaria, 5 km southwest from Dryanovo and 15 km from Gabrovo. An asphalt road leads to it.
