The Musala Lakes are a group of seven lakes situated at 2300 m to 2700 m altitude in Rila Mountain. The highest of them is the Ice Lake, which is the deepest (16m). The largest is Karakashevo Lake (26 acres). It bears the name of a young man who drowned in this lake. There is a very beautiful view to the lakes from Musala peak.
