Thracian sanctuary "Mishkova niva"
The Thracian sanctuary of Mishkova Niva is located near Malko Tarnovo, in Strandzha Mountain. The sanctuary was discovered in the 1980s and is one of the largest and most important ancient Thracian sanctuaries in Bulgaria.
The sanctuary was active between the 5th and 3rd centuries BC to the Roman Imperial era 2nd-3rd century. The site was used for religious rituals, sacrifices and pilgrimages. The sanctuary is dedicated to the god Apollo and the goddess Artemis and it is believed that their priest lived here.
The complex includes numerous structures, including a large circular domed tomb, a rectangular chamber, sacrificial altars and numerous smaller structures.
