Thracian sanctuary "Paleokastro"
Thracian sanctuary "Paleokastro" is located 3 km west of Topolovgrad (in the direction of the village of Hlyabovo). There are groups of rocks in the region, which in their central part form a firewall of a fortress. It is supposed that the place was used for rituals in ancient times. The so-called "Temple of the Sun," is the most distinguished with more than 150 stone suns carved in the rocks. The disks have a diameter ranging between 20 and 90 cm. The path to this area is well-marked. You can turn from the main road and continue on a dirt road by car. You can continue on foot after that for about 40m.
