Tsari Mali Grad Fortress

Tsari Mali Grad fortress is located in the village of Belchin, 15 km from Samokov. The complex, opened officially in 2009, consists of: The medieval church "St. Petka", a museum below it and an ancient fortress located on the hill above them. The periods of construction of the fortress are two - Thracian and Roman. The Romans took part in the construction in three stages. The fortress is likened to Constantinople and hence its name (small Constantinople).
